A handmade area rug is completed after following the seven stepsspinning, washing yarn, dyeing, weaving, washing, finishing, final touching etc.

A handmade carpet takes many months to weave. Handmade carpets are woven in natural fibers like pure New Zealand wool, silk and cotton material which are very expensive and really hard to find these.

1-3 people can work on a single loom. It is woven on a hand loom and is totally operated by hand. No electricity is required for making a handmade carpet. That’s why it is expensive.

Handmade carpets contain “One of a kind” design pattern. The design of a rug can similar to others but never be same.

If we talk about machine-made carpet then yes I agree that it looks nice but the beauty of a machine made carpet is not permanent. It is not as durable as compared to a handmade carpet. A handmade area rug is 10 times stronger than a machine-made rug.

Machine made carpet is woven in 4-5 hours to make and you can use it maximum couple of years maybe one or two years but a handmade carpet collect memories and you can use it from one generation to another generation.

Vacuuming the most important maintenance step is proper vacuuming. Regular and thorough vacuuming at least once a week and more often in heavy traffic areas will remove soil and dirt particles before they become imbedded into the pile of the carpet. An upright Vacuum cleaner with rotating beater bar and brush or canister type with a power head are the most efficient cleaners. The head of the vacuum cleaner should be adjusted so that the brushes barely touch the surface of the carpet. The easiest way to do this is to place a sheet of paper under the vacuum and adjust it until you hear the beater bar hitting the paper.

1. DO NOT use a self-adjusting vacuum since they adjust too deeply into the pile and will cause excessive fuzzing.
2. DO NOT use an overly stiff brush on the beater bar since this too will cause excessive fuzzing.
3. DO NOT use any vacuum made by Oreck or Dyson as these will cause excessive fuzzing.No claims will be accepted when an Oreck or Dyson vacuum is used.It is important to remember to move the vacuum cleaner slowly to allow time to remove soil, and above all, make sure that the dust bag is never more than half full. Remember you cannot over vacuum, and vacuuming should begin the day the carpet is installed.
